sorry for the long sheet but i simply hate when some individuals on their titter accounts raise the topic of how “gross” fanfiction is. they literally make a gag of themselves and it seems they never joined any other fandoms or fan communities before which is odd especially taking into account that fan fiction has been around a little longer than the internet, though the internet definitely gave it a boost in popularity.

also there is one thing: people, who feel irritated by fanfiction about their fav band or their tl also going crazy about *the band*, are another subspecies of obsessive fans who wish they could gatekeep their favourite musicians or tv-shows or media content but if everyone is into it - they feel robbed and left out. they also might feel they are not special anymore, they're just like anybody else. this is pretty captivating, imo, and that says a lot about them too.

what do you think of it?

a piece of advice for this kind of fans is to find some other more important stuff to pay attention to.

i know how tempting it is to vent about your problems with smn/smth, but maybe you should keep quiet about some things or at least you can treat yourself to a new journal and cute stationary. stop making a mess for everyone to see. your tweets may pop up on anyone's tl without any warning and no need to complain how it's no fair if someone's blocked your piteous ass titter.

like, look at our standom, those bo fans who are kept calling out just for having celebrity crushes. this is so pointless. mute, block, forget if you don't like it.

why is it such a big deal?

we are just typical fans. we are not a threat. (there can be only 2 totally deranged toxic fans out of 10 and i think we all can deal with it.)

let people live and admire their crushes. there is no harm in doing that unless they are a bunch of annoying stalkers who pretend to be fans & do their best to draw all attention to themselves by talking bs about bo (even the bo camp) and the fandom in order to stay fucking visible. seriously, those ppl must leave their weak old tea and their dull assumptions to themselves. none of this stuff is an issue nowadays. they need to stop living in the past. some bo fans also should focus on a positive side of this fandom.

Personally, I don’t read it. I don’t like it. I’ve tried and I just feel uncomfortable. It’s not for me. It gives me the ick 99% of the time. I’m fine with the ones that aren’t solely based on fucking and actually have a plot with maybe added sexy time to it. But when the whole story is the characters getting it on… just weird in my opinion. There’s fanfics and then there’s the pornfics. Im not into it.

A bit more for that modern fantasy au I teased a bit ago

Character designs n stuff are slightly based off the official halloween n fantasy ending arts, plus whatever else I wanted to do, so Kiri is a dragon shifter here, Baku is a werewolf, n Ochako is a witch.

There'll probably be a hint of a/b/o dynamics here for weres n shifters, n the idea of alpha!Kiri n alpha!Baku has stuck to me like glue, so that's a thing here also

There's no real plot for this, just these three being dumb n pining, and everyone around them rolling their eyes n dealing with it lmao

I've thought about jobs n first meetings tho, n came up with this. Kiri's a firefighter (along with Tetsu, who is also a dragon shifter, bc I love him and their bro-bond), bc big fire resistent boy running into fires to help people just makes sense. Also I really like the thought of him in the uniform

Ochako works as a self defense instructor with Gunhead at a small gym in town, probably helping people with magic items n stuff on the side for extra cash or smth, I dunno. She might wanna move into a more magically dominant field one day, but she likes the environment of the gym n the regulars that come in n chat between classes. She's also very good at what she does n has put many assholes in their place after they've scoffed at "the cute little girl you have here".

Baku is a "park ranger", n I use quotations bc that's the only title he could really give himself to have any authority over the land he owns. He gives himself more leeway than what some laws may grant, tho tbh if you're coming into his territory with intent to harm those in it, you're lucky to walk away at all just sayin'

He runs an escape park of sorts for weres n shifters to run around during full moons and other times they need to shed their human skin, personally owned so he can avoid all the bullshit regulations n "safety procedures" found in bigger places that try offering the same thing, but ultimately make the shifting process shittier than it needs to be. And words gets around so it gets super popular super fast, n people of all ages come by

Tbh the thought of a teeny tiny wolf, like 10y/o at most running around Baku n trying to get him to play, nipping at his ankles n calling him the pack alpha is really what settled the debate on whether he should be an alpha or omega. And the added image of Baku rolling his eyes n putting on his toughass act but not really minding it as he gets them moving with a tap on the ass, muttering "Fuckin told ya squirt, I'm not your pack alpha. Now find someone else's ankles to bite at, I'm busy", makes me feel really nice

For some first meetings, tbh Kiribaku probably happens first, n they meet when Kiri n Tetsu accidentally trespass on Baku's territory bc they're new to the area n found a big ass lake to soak in during a flight over town, like dude!! Fuck yea that could fit both of us easy, man I haven't soaked in my big form in forever lets go!

And ofc if the giant shadows overhead hadn't tipped him off the security sensors would've so Baku's like who in the FUCK!! N storms off to confront them bc you don't just come on his land like that. That's how people get fucking hurt you dumb assholes 😤😤

N Kiri n Tetsu are mostly just minding their own business, settling down into the lake like aw yea that's the shit, almost passing out bc they'd just had a long day n the water was so cool n the fish eatting the dead skin n shit off their scales was so relaxing. They don't even realise they'd drifted into a light doze when they hear furious snarling n harsh sniffing coming their way, n barely have enough time to get up before Baku comes tearing shit through the trees

And like. Kiri n Tetsu know that they're big boys. Their full sized dragon forms are huge n there's not much out there that scares them, but nobody likes coming face to face with a snarling werewolf, standing in their territory without any warning that you maybe shouldn't be there

Despite the hostile intro, it doesn't take much for the misunderatanding to be cleared up. There's a lot of apologies from Kiri n Tetsu n a lot of irritated snorts from Baku, but they get straightened out. Baku tells them what kinda show he's running n Kiri inatantly get sparkly eyes like dude!! You do that all by yourself?! That's so manly bro you gotta let us help with that

Baku snorts like you don't have to make empty offers if you wanna use the grounds, I don't refuse people unless they pose an actual threat to the others. You guys aren't dangerous, just stupid. N Kiri goes hey rude, but also it's gotta be a lot dealing with all that on your own. We can at least watch out from above, keep an eye on shit or whatever bc face it man, you may be great but even you can't be in multiple places at once.

And the only reason Baku ends up agreeing is bc they pester him about it until he's well past irritated, n he's figured out the only way to shut them up was concede. They can't be there fulltime anyway consudering their professions, but they're sure to help when they can

Kirichako meet at the gym. Kiri's buying a membership or smth bc you gotta keep the stength up bro! Can't be slacking when you're the difference between someone living n someong dying y'know? Ochako's either in a class or dealing with some hothead, her furrowed brows n puffed cheeks distracting Kiri n reminding him of a chipmunk before bud says smth he can't hear but has Ochako seeing red. It doesn't take long for him to end up on his ass n Kiri's just stuck watching, jaw dropped n heart eyes as Ochako tells the guy he can either fix his attitude or find somewhere else to go

Kiri turns to Tetsu like dude holy shit did you see that?? N Tetsu's like yea bro everyone saw it, n Ochako comes up to them like sorry about that. We have a no harassment policy here that some people overstep, n it sucks that we get people coming in that need it enforced but unfortunately it's pretty common.

Then, bc she's still a bit sour, she looks them both dead in the eyes with a fire raging behind hers like if that's not smth you think you can handle then you might as well save us all the hassle n leave now. N they're both like no way that was great, totally understandable, just tell us where to sign

And while she came off as kinda aggressive during their initial meet, Kiri's quick to find she has just as much sweetness to match her bite. He watches her between sets sometimes n sees how kind n gentle she can be with the younger classes that come in, how she doesn't single out people who struggle n instead moves to help n provide tips without making a huge deal of it

She's also one of the first people to come running when someone gets hurt, he finds out. He'd admittedly been more focused on her sparring with Gunhead than he'd been on the super heavy equipment he was using for his reps, n managed to look over at the perfect time to get flustered n drop it directly on his foot. The resounding crack was loud enough to catch quite a bit of attention, tho he knows the equipment is more likely to be damaged than his foot

Ochako doesn't even hesitate to run over n levitate him to take the pressure off of his not broken foot, going "oh my god are you okay?? Someone clear that bench please, he needs to get off his feet now!" N Kiri does appreciate the concern, as embarassing as it may be, n tries to tell her it's really not a big deal, thanks for the help but honestly--

N she rounds on him like say that one more time n you'll be dealing with a broken nose instead, now sit your ass down n let me handle this!! Kiri can't even reply with anything other than a quiet okay😳😳 bc he's always thought her determination was super admirable, but being this close n seeing it burn in her eyes so intensely is taking it to a whole new level n he has no clue how to handle it

Kacchako meeting is kind of a hybrid mix of the other two combined lmao. Baku owns a pack house where he lives with Deku, then later with Kiri, Tetsu, Mina, Kami, n Sero, but he's so busy with the park that he's hardly ever home. N since Ochako's kinda embarassed about her tiny ass appartment, they usually hang out at the pack house to talk over magic studies or gossip over whatever's happened recently. At this point Baku n Ochako have heard of each other but never been around at the same time

Which causes a problem one day while Ochako's in the kitchen making tea when Baku comes home. He'd had a stressful day warding off poachers or smth, n his rut's just a few days away now, so when he opens the door n is greeted with a slightly unfamiliar scent it sends him into a daze, where he stalks to the kitchen before he even knows that he's moving

Ochako knows tho, can hear the low growls and deliberately quiet steps creeping behind her, setting her on edge bc ohhhh my god, someone just broke into Deku's place holy shit!! And when it gets close enough to barely feel hot breath on the back of her neck she's flinging herself into action, all muscle memory as she gets a few quick jabs into Baku's gut. It knocks the question outta his lungs, getting out a choked "who the--" before her magic kicks in and she's picking him up n slamming him down with his weight returned for maximum momentum, body slamming the following "fUCK!!" out as well before she placed her weight on him to keep him down. She gets right in his face demanding "who are you?! How did you get in here?!"

And when he can breathe again Baku snaps back like "who tf am I?!? I live here!! Who tf are you?!?!" And like, she's still in fight mode so she's looking him over like hmm, so this is Bakugou. Then she realises wtf she's doing n goes oh my god it's Bakugou!! N she's jumping off him and apologising so fast that she's barely saying words, trying to take his hands n help him back up but getting swatted away bc you've done enough touching don't you think??

And yea, Baku's kinda pissed. Being attacked in your own house does that to anyone, let alone a pre-rut alpha. But also, he's kinda impressed, bc he can count on one hand the amount of people who've gotten the drop on him like that, but he'd rather die than admit it out loud. So he just huffs at her with a final "try that shit again n I'll kill you", n stalks off to his room, having more important things to worry about right then than who's fucking around in his kitchen

((His rut decides to be completely unhelpful that time around, his alpha brain locking in on the faint perfume she'd left on his shirt while tossing him around and how perfectly it mixed with his own scent, as well as the shirt he nabbed from Kiri's laundry basket the night before. He rubs the scents of these strong potential mates all over his den, knots his rut aid with his face plastered to the shirts then uses it to scent the shirts even more, drunk off of how well their scents all mix together. He's rightfully embarassed during the end when he can start thinking properly again n throws both shirts to the back of his closet to be forgotten about--as much as his alpha fights him on it--n moves on to his business like normal.

Tho if he tries to be home more often when he knows Ochako's coming around, n spends more time in Kiri's space, nobody's mean enough to comment on it. At least, not at first.))

Over ten years you have known the Winchesters they have been nothing but good to you especially Sam considering he's your boyfriend of 3 years. He had all these doubts in his mind that something bad would happen to you but you reassured him. Now look at you guys going on for 4 years. You waited for Sam to propose because you knew it had to coming, but you waited till Sam was ready. You also understood why Sam didn't want to rush things he told you before you even started the relationship.

There were even those rare times when he would always protect you on hunts considering your natural born hunting skills. He knew you were a badass hunter, he just never wanted to lose you, you meant the world to him and if he lost you he'd never forgive himself. He's had every love of his life die right before his eyes and he never wanted that for you.

Sam constantly worried about you on hunts even when you went with Dean to go get food for the bunker of food after hunts. Sam knew Dean would protect you and never let anything happen to you but he also knew that Amara was around and with her roaming the world he couldn't bring himself to ask you to marry him. He's been thinking about it for awhile now,Dean even knows and he's been bugging Sam about it ever since he's told him. But Sam doesn't want to do it and to have you killed or to lose you.

He decided to wait till Amara was gone for good so she didn't have to worry about you that was until Dean had a plan to use you to get Amara jealous.

“No Dean I am not letting you use (y/n) as bait to lure in Amara” Sam raised his voice at his older brother.

“Come on Sammy do you have a better idea?” Dean asked.

“Yes I do and you're not putting the woman I love in harm's way” Sam crossed his arms furious with his brother putting you in harm.

“Sammy you know I wouldn't let Amara touch a single hair on her” Dean smiled, “Sam come on you'll be right outside and I'll immediately call you in if anything bad happens or if it's all over.”

“If I lose her Dean,I'm blaming you” Sam winced at the thought of losing you.

Dean knew the risk he was making but Amara told Dean that she knew about you and Dean tried to tell her but it wasn't going to work so that's why Dean came up with the plan.

“You go tell her I can't” Sam interrupted Dean's thoughts. The elder Winchester nodded and went to Sam's room, he knocked on the door.

“Hey (y/n), it's me” Dean spoke.

“Come in Dean” you spoke out. Dean opened the door. You were cleaning up the room you shared with Sam even though he kept it clean you just kept your side clean. You and Sam agreed to keep up each others side clean. Dean leaned against the door frame and smiled at the fact you were listening to classic rock.

“A girl who listens to classic rock is a girl after my heart” Dean smirked they were rare times he flirted with you just to see the evil scowl Sam would give him or tell him something.

“Dean I know you didn't come here to flirt with me and if Ssm heard you say that you know what would happen” you scolded  Dean.

“Yeah yeah he would kick my ass I know but you do know what Sam would do if he heard you listening to this” Dean tried to scold you.

“Yeah and he has once but I can't help it” you felt ashamed but shrugged it off, “So what brings you in here Dean?” you asked.

“I need you to help me with Amara” Dean asked while crossing his arms and stepping further into the room.

“what exactly do you need me for?” you asked. Dean looked scared, he rub a single hand down his stubble face.

“I need you to bait, Amara she hates you because you're always around me, she doesn't believe you're with Sam at the many times I've tried tell her” Dean had sadness and regret in his eyes. You felt a sense of remorse for him, you hugged him and told him that you would do it. As much as you knew Dean wanted Amara gone as much as you and Sam did.

“Just always have a look out on me because you know Sam will never forgive you for getting me killed if it happens” You told Dean sternly. Held onto you tightly you knew he was scared you were too.

“You know I would never let anything happen to you (y/n), you're like a sister to me actually you are my sister and I couldn't ask for anyone else to be my sister” Dean choked on his own tears. You hugged him closer and held onto him. Dean was your annoying protective older brother and you loved him just like a sister brother relationship. He knew, Sam knew that all it was and will always be.

The next day you found yourself getting into something that Sam did not like, when you told him last night you both had a mini argument, Sam got so fed up with you agreeing to this that he couldn't control his anger so you went to the extra room past Dean's room and slept there for the night. You knew Sam wouldn't be ok with this but you also knew that he would forgive you when it's over and your safe and sound in his arms. Sam was furious you could tell he wouldn't acknowledge you or even look at you, he was even mad at Dean but you didn't know who he was mad at more it was about equal.

“Don't worry (y/n) when this is over he will come around” Dean reassured you. You nodded and went with Dean while Sam continued to pack and you were with Dean going over the plan.

After going through the plan with Dean, Sam came out to find out what he was doing and before you got in the car he stopped you. He kissed you deeply like it will be the last kiss you will receive. He let go of you and you were standing there in dazed at the way Sam just kissed you. A deep voice not from Sam but from Dean came and interrupted your train of thoughts.

“(Y/n) Let's go, Get in” Dean yelled. You snapped yourself out of your thoughts and got in the front seat of the car while Sam sat in the back, you were still in shock of the way Sam kissed you, you looked at him in the rearview mirror he still looked furious and he had every right to be but the only thing that went through your head was why that kiss why did he have to kiss you like it was going to be the last kiss ever. Maybe he had suspicions you tried to figure it out but you could never figure out Sam Winchester he was one walking riddle that you had a hard time figuring out.

You were so lost in your thoughts that you never noticed that you were at the abandoned warehouse were Amara said she would be. Dean had break you from your own thoughts.

“(Y/n), are you ok?” Dean asked you.

“Yeah I'm fine let's just get this over with” you immediately got out of the car making sure you had your knife in your jacket pocket.

You and Dean went inside the warehouse to already meet Amara inside. She was happy to see Dean but not so much you, you saw the evil look in her eyes when she saw you around Dean. You were here to tell her that Dean was not the one you were involved with but you saw him as just a brother and only a brother. It took a lot of convincing to make Amara believe but she finally did so you walked out of that warehouse safe and sound running into Sam’s arms. He cried because you were safe in his arms.

“Sammy there's no need to cry” You looked up at Sam and he had a smile on his face.

“come with me I need to show you something” he grabbed your hand. He led you away to the warehouse and stole a car.

“Sam where are we going? “ you asked.

Sam smiled softly, “You will see my beautiful (y/n).”

You just smiled and sat back in the car and let Sam drive.

Once you arrived at your destination you remembered the scenery. There were trees around and cliff overlooking the city, you remembered this place, and you saw lights all hung up on the trees and a blanket on the floor.

“Sam when did you find time to do this?” you asked.

“I couldn't sleep last night so I snuck out and did all this” he looked over at you admiring you.

“Why?”was all you could say at a moment like this.

“Because I wanted to find out after the Amara thing ended I wanted to do this” Sam smiled, he reached inside his jacket pocket and took out a black velvet box. You had feeling what was going to happen but you were to excited.

“(Y/f/n) (Y/l/n), I have been in denial for years to ask you but I think the time is now. I can't ever lose you, I lost so many important people in life that I can't lose you and that's why I gave you that kiss before we left because I thought it would be the last kiss I'd ever get but I'm lucky to get more kisses from the girl I love the most in this hunter life. I love the way you know when I need something and you take care of me after hunts when I get badly injured. I love how you stick up for yourself especially when Dean starts being an asshole. I love that you're a badass hunter and I'll say this only once unless you want to hear more often but when I see you hunting I can't help but think how beautiful you are seeing you dirty or with blood is hot but not when you're hurt and I'd take care of you any day of my life. Also you're Smart I think you know more stuff than me and I don't care because I love you for you. I love your beautiful personality, I love your differences I love everything about you so will make me the happiest hunter to ever live and marry me?” Sam got down at one knee at the end of his speech. You were in tears, your mouth formed a small ‘o’ beneath your hands. You were silent for awhile you couldn't speak you were speechless. Then you realized you had to give him an answer.

“Sam of course I will marry you, I thought you would never ask” You cried out in tears of joy. Sam put the ring on your finger and grabbed your face in his hands looking deep into your (y/e/c) eyes and he kissed you. This kiss was different from the kiss received earlier this kiss was sensual, romantic, passionate, and soft. You were enjoying the kiss when you were interrupted by Sam's phone ringing. He let go to answer his phone it was Dean.

Once he got off the phone with Dean he kissed you once more,” come on my beautiful fiancèe, let's go tell my big brother the good news” Sam smiled kissing you on your cheek.

this isn't a st related question but i truly enjoy reading your answers and your rants, and i wanted to ask what do you think of 13 reasons why (if you have seen it)? i've so many conflicted thoughts about it and many people don't like it because of the way the characters seem to approach things/situations, and the obvious explicit content the show has

I mean I guess my number 1 opinion of it is that I’m just TIRED of always hearing about it? I feel like every five minutes online there’s someone new posting smth trashing it and it’s just kinda exhausting. Even if you don’t like the show that kind of constant negativity is just too much. I’m gonna post my actual opinions under the cut bc it’s pretty long

I can see what some people say about how it romanticizes suicide, but personally I didn’t interpret it that way. For me it was more like “Hannah had all these problems in her life and people couldn’t stop them, but if they gave her some support maybe she would have been able to cope with them” and that’s a valid thing. You can’t love away someone’s mental illness, but you can give them the support they need so they don’t fall to a point where they’re considering ending their life. Personally I don’t really think it romanticized her suicide, but I can understand why some people feel that way. I do think the show didn’t do the best job sharing their message in s1 and the vagueness left a lot up for interpretation and a lot of people interpreted it in a bad way, and there was definitely some insensitive lines that are bad out of context. I think it was better with this in s2 though, it was more clear about it’s themes and what it was trying to say. 

But even with that said, honestly the argument that it glorifies suicide just makes no sense to me. The whole point of the show is that Hannah’s death was a tragedy, an AVOIDABLE tragedy, there was really nothing (at least that I saw) that was portraying it as a good or honorable thing or whatever. I can see how someone may say it romanticized her death, but it certainly didn’t glorify it. 

And just let me say, in general with ALL suicide-related media, it’s gonna cause more suicides. That’s not something that’s going to change and it exists for literally every piece of suicide-related media. People watch it, and possibly get triggered by it or it puts the idea in their head, and it results in more suicides. But that doesn’t mean the topic should just be avoided? Suicide contagion isn’t a black and white issue. Of course there are going to be problems caused by talking about a topic that’s become taboo in our culture, but there’s also existing problems that aren’t going to get help unless people start talking about them. Talking about suicide is inevitably going to cause more suicides, but it’s also going to prevent them.

So with that being said, anybody who blames this show for anyone who may have hurt or killed themselves after watching is just plain disrespectful. A show does not make someone suicidal. If someone is at the point where they are considering ending their life, they have a lot of mental health problems going on, and while a show may bring some bad feelings to surface, those feelings always existed, and this was without a doubt something a person struggled with before the show. This show could be the most awful, trashiest thing on the planet, but the fact of the matter remains, blaming someone’s mental health problems or suicide on a television show is plain disrespectful. End of discussion there.

And quite honestly, there comes a point where you can’t blame a show for something in it triggering you when you had complete knowledge it would be shown. There are CONSTANT trigger warnings in the show, they’re at the beginning of every episode, there’s extra ones for the episodes where more intense stuff happens, and in the beginning of each season theres a video you can’t skip from the cast urging anyone who may be triggered not to watch the show and to reach out for help if they need it. If someone ignores all those warnings, it’s not the show’s fault. It’s not their fault either and I’m in no way blaming them, but I’m just saying the show itself shouldn’t be blamed for it. And I do think peer pressure plays a role here because people are constantly talking about the show, so I think there’s a lot of people who should be avoiding shows like this but then ignore the warnings bc they feel like they have to watch it to understand the hype and all that. I think fans (and even people who aren’t fans) have to take some responsibility themselves and do their best to make sure people who might be at-risk don’t feel pressured to watch something that might harm them. I think one of the major problems with the show is it’s marketed as a teen show, but contains a lot of intense stuff most teenagers can’t handle, but still force themselves to watch even if it hurts them bc of all the hype. 

There were absolutely a lot of parts of the show that were in bad taste. They really didn’t need to explicitly show Hannah’s suicide, there’s definitely some insensitive lines thrown around, there’s some parts I think it would have been a lot better without. I think there were parts that were overdone and used for shock value and all that. It’s in no way a perfect show. But at the end of the day, I don’t think it’s black and white. There’s obviously problems in the show, but there’s also been good that’s come out of it. And you can’t take any one person’s opinion for it, because there’s people who struggle with suicide who think this show is trash, and there’s also people who struggle with suicide and this show is their lifeline. I don’t think it’s as simple as “this show is awful” or “this show is amazing”. I don’t think it deserves all the hate it gets, but there are definitely problems with it. And more than anything, people really need to stop being dicks to people who enjoy the stuff. Nobody’s interests are 100% flawless and perfect, there’s problematic aspects of everything, and a lot of the people who are fans of the show care because it brought up personal stuff for them. I don’t care how awful you may think this show is, I just really want to stop seeing fans get shit for it. That’s what bothers me the most. 

And I’m just going to say one last thing. I think at the end of the day the goal of the show was to start conversation about the way suicide is treated in our society, and it’s definitely accomplished that. Both people who hate it and love it, they’re talking about it, and they’re talking about suicide and how to better deal with those at risk, so in that sense, I do think the show made a positive impact. It’s had good and bad effects, but it’s gotten people talking, and no matter what I do think that’s a good thing.

But it’s also kind of sad bc it shows how anti circles are obsessed with making themselves upset and angry on PURPOSE (“I chose to go into this triggering tag…”), and that many of them NEED external validation for their own beliefs and to explain their upset as “good” or “correct” (“…to find people who agree with me”).

It’s like…for one bc of the way anti communities are constructed, many antis likely believe that in order to REALLY have a moral/ethical belief, or for your opinions to be RIGHT, you MUST be angry and upset about them. You MUST be passionate about them. Even if something stresses you out, triggers you, or ruins your day…those consequences are GOOD actually because it means you “care.”

Which is deeply unhealthy because it breaks down people’s perceptions of their own boundaries and limits. It prevents people from knowing when they should step away from something for their own sake and let others handle it. Or even when smth isn’t their business/they don’t NEED to get involved in the first place (like going into ship tags for ships you hate or being a minor and inserting yourself in 18+ spaces on purpose)

AND it makes them think that anytime they’re upset, stressed, uncomfortable, or angry at something, that their personal reaction/feelings towards the thing MEANS that the thing MUST be bad. It wouldn’t make them feel bad unless it was MORALLY bad. Which, of course, isn’t an argument. Your feelings are not a logical argument, just being uncomfortable with something is not an argument for why it’s bad. That’s the same “argument” that queerphobes use when they don’t want “that shit shoved down their throats” or that racists use when they don’t want critical race theory taught bc it “makes them feel bad”

And it’s this ouroboros because it all feeds into itself. Antis wanted a way to explain why they were uncomfortable/upset, and to validate those feelings, so they pin those feelings to a flimsy moral foundation, and then grow to believe that every instance of them being uncomfortable/upset must be bc of that flimsy moral foundation. So you have antis who look like hypocrites bc they’re South Park or rick and morty fans, and antis who intentionally go into spaces they don’t belong and that they know will hurt them on purpose for some misdirected sense of “justice”

All in all, there’s a ton of digital self harm that goes on in anti communities and it’s ENCOURAGED and romanticized as “bravery” or “passion,” it’s “going through this (clearly tagged and content warned) account was SO upsetting and stressful it sent me into a panic attack, but I HAD to get PROOF of why this person is BAD. I HAD to trigger myself for you guys (the followers who will read, spread, and positively interact with the call out), and isn’t that person so BAD for TRIGGERING ME with their content? (That I chose to look at)”

And to be clear I mean triggering in the actual, serious, medical/psychological sense. Many, many antis legitimately trigger themselves bc they’re traumatized, mentally ill, or deeply stressed/scared/anxious. I am not trying to downplay those serious reactions and it’s precisely the severity of those reactions and their negative effects on mental health that makes this kind of behavior SO deeply concerning. Also acknowledging that not all antis have this line of thinking or behavior, but that far far too many of them DO, esp in the more insular communities on like Twitter/tiktok/Instagram, like accs that are entirely about “discourse” or “call outs”
